My first children's book is available for purchase. I should say OUR first book as my daughter is the illustrator. The book is entitled Buddy:A Story for Dyslexia. It is a great book for any child dealing with a reading disability, but also appropriate for a child dealing with other learning challenges. We were graced with a wonderful endorsement from Sally Shaywitz.
“I loved reading Buddy’s story and anyone who cares about a dyslexic child will too. Buddy, a sweet little bird who struggles to sing while also having the ability to fly swiftly and fearlessly, will be welcomed by every dyslexic boy and girl. Buddy captures the heart and soul of living with dyslexia, both its frustrations and eventual triumphs. Buddy’s story will be embraced by parents and children who will see themselves and their child in this sweet little bird whose experiences trying to sing are ones they know all too well. They will take heart, too, from Buddy’s learning to sing and singing triumphantly before his class and parents. The story’s creators, writer Robin McEvoy Ph.D. and her teenage daughter, illustrator, Tessa McEvoy, work a special magic in their creation of Buddy, who will quickly become every dyslexic child’s best buddy. My advice, walk, run, no fly to obtain a copy of Buddy, your dyslexic child will thank you.
